SmartNet Sustainability Showcase & EV Exhibition

A One-Stop Shop for Sustainability

Recently, the SmartNet Coalition Non-Profit Corporation—a network of businesses and groups dedicated to supporting local sustainable businesses and advancing Canada’s sustainable economy—hosted its annual SmartNet Sustainability Showcase & EV Exhibition on September 23rd at Lansdowne Park. The Showcase brought together a diverse group of individuals, businesses, and non-profits, all driven by a shared vision to collaboratively accelerate the sustainable economy through shared projects and networking.

At the heart of the SmartNet Sustainability Showcase was a clear and compelling message: the road to a brighter, greener, and more sustainable future requires collaboration, innovation, knowledge-sharing, and community-building. Attendees, including exhibitors, panelists, sponsors, and people from all walks of life gathered at Lansdowne Park to engage in productive dialogues, witness sustainable solutions and innovations, and connect with like-minded individuals.

Showcasing Innovative Sustainable Solutions

One of the SmartNet Sustainability Showcase & EV Exhibition’s key features was its focus on businesses with sustainability at the core of their operations. Attendees had the opportunity to explore indoor and outdoor exhibits featuring local eco-friendly companies and non-profits' sustainable products and services. From cutting-edge innovations in renewable energy to eco-friendly lifestyle products, this event demonstrated that sustainable living is possible and accessible to all.

Showcasing Innovative Sustainable Solutions

By showcasing different sustainable transportation options such as e-cars, e-bikes, an e-boat, and an e-bus, the SmartNet Sustainability Showcase gave us a glimpse into the future of mobility. It encouraged attendees to consider electric vehicles as a sustainable choice for their transportation needs.

Visitors had the opportunity to explore and dive into an electrifying world of new transportation possibilities. The exhibition sought to raise awareness on how our transportation choices can positively impact our environment. Throughout the event, e-car and e-bike test drives were offered to the public to show firsthand the power and performance of clean and sustainable transportation.

Knowledge-sharing through panel presentations

Attendees also had the opportunity to participate and engage in informative presentations and panel discussions led by experts in sustainability, community development, sustainable transportation, construction, and house renovation. Topics covered included community-building through climate action, waste reduction as part of the just transition, insights into Canada’s climate goals, electric vehicles 101, and tips for creating a greener home, community. The panels sought to equip visitors with the knowledge and tools to make informed choices, embrace, and engage with environmentally conscious and sustainable practices.
